As I mentioned a few months ago, I am reading the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton, which starts with Guilty Pleasures. Onto book 9: Obsidian Butterfly! I’m reading about 175 pages a week, so this book is going to be broken into three parts. Each week, I’ll be bringing you two posts: a review of the book and a related kinky post. This is my review of the book post! For those who are new to my blog, you don’t need to read the books to read the kinky stories on Fridays, and of course, you’re welcome to check out my reviews on Sundays!
Description from Amazon: There are a lot of monsters in Anita Blake’s life. And some of them are human. One such individual is the man she calls Edward, a bounty hunter who specializes in the preternatural. He calls her to help him hunt down the greatest evil she has ever encountered – something that kills and maims and vanishes into the night. Something Anita will have to face alone.
#9 Obsidian Butterfly (Ch 1-23)
Non-spoilery Review:
A riveting start! It’s odd that this book centers on Anita and Edward. Not having Jean Claude and Richard as main characters is very different, but they’re still relevant, if off screen. There is a lot of development with Anita as a character in this part of the book. Very interesting! I can’t wait to read more.
Here is the link to my very rough notes about this part of the book, including notes on characters and plot. It’s mostly for me, but if you had read it in the past and just need a refresher, it would suffice, though it doesn’t read nicely!
