Two weeks ago, I started a story about anonymous sex, inspired by the fact that Anita is sooo not into it. Here’s the final(?) part! Let me know if you want more!

Anita and her boyfriends rescue the wereleopards from the sinister people holding them, but Anita is wounded in the fight and put at risk of becoming a wereleopard herself. Richard angrily captures the wereleopard he believes is responsible and threatens to execute him.
Anita must now rescue that wereleopard from Richard and the werewolves he leads, even as she mourns the apparent end of her relationship with him. Then she realizes that those who kidnapped the first two wereleopards are targeting other lycanthropes. Maybe she will be next.
With plenty of steamy sex and graphic violence, this is engaging reading for vampire cultists.

Non-spoilery Review:
I have to say that I wasn’t sad for this one to end. There was a little bit of a feeling that it all came together too perfectly, but at least some of the main characters got a bit of a kick in the pants that they needed to become functional again. (I’m already into the next book at the time I’m writing this and it’s definitely better in that regard!)

This is a tough part of the book. There’s not a lot of sexy things, which is totally fine, but there’s a lot of tense things. I am so mad at some long-time characters for this part of the book. I wish they could get their heads out of their asses. If you’ve read it, let me know if you feel the same way.

It’s so hot in this room, I just need some air. It’s a party, a fun party. I’m not ready to go back to my hotel room, but I am ready to get some fresh air. I simply can’t stand it in here any longer. It’s a Valentine’s Day party with a DJ, dinner, and open bar. It was advertised as for singles and couples, but it’s mostly couples. I’m bummed, but at least it’s better than sitting at home on the biggest couples night of the year. I know, I know, I shouldn’t care about Valentine’s Day, but I do. I have just broken up with my boyfriend, so it’s extra lonely this year. I just hope that I can manage not to get too depressed. But some loud music, dancing, lights, (and of course drinks) will help keep the sadness at bay.
But for the moment, I need some air. I’ve just danced with the other ladies at the party, most of whom have partners, but most of the guys wouldn’t come out on the dance floor. That’s better for me anyway, since if we needed a partner, I wouldn’t have one.

Narcissus in Chains (Ch 1-19)
Non-spoilery Review:
I’m struggling a little bit with this novel. I still love the series, don’t get me wrong, and Laurell K. Hamilton is still an excellent author. But I can’t relate much to this novel!
Sex with strangers. Yes.
Sex with guys she knows. Yes.
Orgy. Yes.
Anita. No. She’s not interested, and I just don’t get it.
