On the 4th Day of Christmas…

On the 4th Day of Christmas, Santa gave me to me…

Four hot and sexy people standing in front of me.

I didn’t really want to go to the bar, but my friend was DJing karaoke and I was trying to be supportive. I didn’t realize that it would end with me having my pick of four super hot and sexy people who all wanted to come home with me.

Entering the dark bar, I realized that this was just not what I wanted to be doing. I wanted to be at home with a mug of herbal tea and a book. I almost turned around and walked out, but then I saw Monty behind the DJ booth and he had the biggest grin when he saw me.

“Taby!” he cried, leaning over to kiss me on the cheek. I smiled back. “What are you going to sing?”

“Oh, Monty, I can’t go up there. You know that.”

“You can! You’re great!”

I shook my head, chuckling. “I don’t want to stand up here in front of all those people.”

“Have a drink and go for it. You’re better than you think you are.”

I stepped away, giving Monty the floor so he could do his thing. I sat down at the bar and ordered myself a drink. I never thought I was very good, but Monty was not the first to tell me that I was better at karaoke than I gave myself credit for. I always got so nervous going up there in front of all those people.

Three people in and I realized that I was way better than anyone who had gone so far, and even I recognized that. I guess that meant that I should go just for it. I threw back the rest of my fruity drink and walked up to Monty.

“Okay, Monty. Put me in.”

“You’re on.”

“Now?!”

“Yep.”

“But there must have been a line.”

Monty waved my comment away and pushed me up into the spotlight.

“What song am I singing?”

“You’ll know it,” he said with a grin.

And when the first notes started to play, he was right. I did know it. It was my favorite karaoke song to do and Monty knew it. It was a country love song. I never listened to much country, but this particular song was just well suited for my voice.

I was nervous, but once the song started to play and the first verse went okay, I felt more comfortable. I stopped paying attention to the room around me and just sang.

And when the song ended, the crowd went wild. I stepped down out of the spotlight, still grinning. Four hot and sexy people stood in front of me. And all of them wanted to buy me a drink…
