Your choice for D was to bring Sevy along to the Dungeon.
Aralyn knew that she couldn’t go to The Dungeon alone. It just wouldn’t be a good situation, of that she was sure. The question now was how could she ask Sevy to go with her? She had no idea what he would think of the club. And secondly, how did she get an invitation anyway? Whoever invited her knew her name and knew to leave the phone where she was working. Was it someone from her past? It almost had to be. But who? How? She was too curious to just ignore it, though. Was it a co-worker playing a joke on her?
Now that was a thought. She had overheard Marcus, one of the waiters, complaining about her to someone she didn’t know. He was being snippy about how much time Sevy was spending training her. It almost sounded like he was jealous. So maybe this was a big prank. If it were, Sevy would probably know since he’d worked at the diner for years. She would bring it up in person so she could gauge his reaction better.
Aralyn impatiently waited to hear from Sevy. It was only half an hour, but it seemed like a lot later. When he did get back to her, she was super nervous about what she was going to do or say.
Sevy: I’m getting off of work soon. Still up for whatever I want?
Aralyn: Sure. What did you have in mind?
Sevy: It’s a surprise.
Aralyn: A surprise? For me? Already.
Aralyn wasn’t sure what to say. Sevy’s trying to surprise her had taken her aback. Or maybe it wasn’t a thing. Maybe it was something that took little to no planning at all. She had no idea. Though, she supposed that was the point of a surprise.
Aralyn: Okay, whatever you want.
She didn’t receive a reply from Sevy for a while, and she jumped when her phone chirped.
Sevy: I’m done with work. 😀
Aralyn: Oh good!
Sevy: I’ll pick you up. Where are you?
She gave him her address, and he told her he would be there in twenty minutes. When he pulled up outside her apartment building, she was waiting for him. Even though the afternoon air was chilly, she was too excited to wait inside. She walked right up to the familiar car as it approached. She didn’t give him a chance to stop before she opened the door.
“Hang on,” he said before she got in and she was jarred mid-motion. “Can we go inside?”
“Sure,” she said. Was this her surprise? “You can park over there,” she directed.
When he came over to her, he took her hand, and she led him into the apartment building. They went to her apartment, and she looked around, trying to gauge if he would be judging her for the way her apartment looked. She wasn’t a neat freak, but she liked to keep things clean enough. She hadn’t been expecting company, so she hadn’t cleaned up before she left. There was somewhat of a mess.
“So, what’s up?” she asked.
“I wanted to talk before we went out.”
“Actually, I wanted you to answer that.”
“What do you mean?” she asked, curious.
“I feel like you may have had something you wanted to ask me.” He paused and let his statement sink in. “Am I right?”
Her eyes went wide. Sevy couldn’t possibly be talking about the phone she found, could he? She didn’t know, but she had intended to discuss it with him in any case. “Maybe,” she said, letting her voice trail off.
“Go ahead. You can tell me anything.”
“Yeah, you can’t shock me.”
She giggled. “Are you sure about that?”
“Yeah,” he said, “I’m sure.”
“So, the other night at the diner, I found a phone.”
“Oh yeah?” His words implied that what she said was news to him, but his tone and the twinkle in his eye said otherwise.
“Yeah, it was under a table.”
“Uh huh,” he said, with the same tone.
“Do you already know all of this or something?” she asked, annoyed. Sevy couldn’t suppress his grin. “How did you know?” A terrifying new thought occurred to her. What if the phone was a plant for new employees? Some sort of hazing ritual.
“I saw you pick it up through the window.”
“But that doesn’t explain…” she wasn’t sure how to finish that statement.
“It doesn’t explain how I know you were about to tell me that you had a special invitation to a secret club.”
Aralyn’s eyes went wide. “How could you…”
“It was my phone.”
“But the person knew my name.”
“When I realized that you had picked up the phone, I noticed you didn’t hand it into the lost and found when it rang. I know what you would have heard on the other end, so obviously the idea of a sex club wasn’t abhorrent to you. It isn’t my primary cell phone anyway, so I gave my friends at The Dungeon a heads up that you had my phone.” Aralyn’s head was reeling. She just kept blinking at him. He continued. “Look, I didn’t plan for you to find it that way. I hadn’t meant to lose my phone, clearly. But it turned into a great opportunity. It’s hard for me to explain to someone I like that I am a part owner of The Dungeon. You finding my phone just seemed like the perfect chance to tell you something about me. And, unless I am much mistaken, you were going to ask if I would go to the club with you, weren’t you?”
It felt like she had swallowed her voice, but she nodded.
Sevy grinned. “I’m so glad to hear it. Do you want to go?” She nodded again. “Tonight?”
It felt like butterflies were fighting in her stomach. “Tonight?”
“Why not?” he asked.
She had no reason to say tonight was bad, except that she was nervous. Though she recognized that it wouldn’t matter if they went tonight, tomorrow, or next week, she would be just as nervous. In fact, the more time she had to think about it, the more nervous she would probably be. So maybe it was for the best to just go. “There’s no reason why not. Let’s do it.”
“Excellent.” He grinned. “Is that what you intend to wear?”
“Well, I wasn’t entirely sure I would be going so I hadn’t put a lot of thought into what I was wearing.”
“Can I help you pick something out?” he asked.
“Sure,” she said, surprised. “What kind of outfit do you recommend?
“Something tight and revealing. See through is an awesome choice.”
She raised her eyebrows at him. “I don’t know that I have anything that fits that description. Want to help me find something?”
“Yeah, of course,” he said with a grin. “I think I could handle going through a pretty lady’s underwear drawer.” He winked.
“Underwear drawer! Who said you could take a peek at that?”
“Well, your underwear matters in this situation. If your skirt is short enough, I won’t be the only one who gets to see your underwear today.”
“You’re pushing your luck, Mister. Maybe you won’t get to see my underwear either.” Even as she said the words, a grin spread across her face. She couldn’t help it. When he grinned back, she laughed. “Okay, okay, so I don’t mind if you see my underwear,” she emphasized the word you, “but I don’t know that I want anyone else seeing it.”
“Well, that’s totally up to you, darling. I would never force you to do anything you weren’t comfortable with.” A serious expression had spread across his face. “I want to see your underwear. I think it will look very sexy on you and probably even sexier on the floor,” he winked again, “but I also completely respect you and your choices. You don’t have to go to The Dungeon. You can go and not participate in anything. You can go in what you’re wearing now.”
As he stopped speaking, she realized how sincere he was being. How could this guy get any better? Honestly, he was fantastic. He was kind and thoughtful, sincerely giving her a choice rather than pressuring her. But he was skilled enough to do it in such a way that wasn’t manipulative but was still playful and fun. It was evident that he was taking it seriously, but it was also clear that he wasn’t taking it too seriously. She was beginning to feel befuddled. It was time to take that next leap forward. “I want to wear something sexy. It’s fun to get dressed up and go out and I think it is far and away beyond what I’ve ever done before.”
“I imagine you’re right,” he said. “So do I get to look in your underwear drawer?”
“Yes, fine,” she said with mock exasperation. She led Sevy into her bedroom and opened the drawer of underwear. He looked through it carefully. She had a particular preference for bikini cut panties. Most of them were plain cotton and solid colored, but a few had patterns.
“Is this it?” he asked.
She blushed, “No,” she admitted. She pulled open another drawer and looked away. She couldn’t stand there and watch Sevy paw through that drawer.
“Jackpot,” she heard him whisper. “This is precisely what I was hoping for.” She felt her stomach sink.
“You want me to wear something from that drawer out in public?”
“Yes,” he said.
“With something on top of it, I hope.”
“Maybe,” he said, mysteriously. Aralyn had to remind herself he said he wouldn’t force her to do anything against her will.
“Like what?” she asked. Sevy pulled out a black top that was all lace and mostly see-through.
“Can I see this on you?” he asked gently.
“It’s completely see-through!” she protested.
“Actually,” he began, holding it up to the light, “it may only be see-through when the light is behind it. I’ve seen this kind of material before. Up against your skin, it may not show anything. Can we please find out?” He was nearly pouting at her, and she took the garment from him and waltzed off to the bathroom. She certainly wasn’t going to try it on in front of him!
In the bathroom, she made the split second decision not to lock the bathroom door. In fact, she didn’t even close the door all the way. She slipped her shirt and bra off and pulled the lace garment over her head. The part that covered her nipples looked like it should have been see-through, but it wasn’t. Her nipples were apparent only because they were hard. Otherwise, she couldn’t even see the color of her nipples beneath the fabric. The part that covered her belly, however, was pure lace and completely see-through. She was glad that her stomach didn’t have any blemishes because they would be totally visible through the material. The top was held on by thin straps which she adjusted to fit her comfortably. She took a deep breath. Could she go out in public wearing this? Would she chicken out? Would she keep her sweatshirt on over it the whole time she was out? That was a distinct possibility, and really, what was the harm in that anyway? If she went out and she decided that she wasn’t comfortable enough to take off her sweatshirt, she would just keep it on, no matter how warm the club got. She walked out of the bathroom with her head held high.
“What do you think?” she asked, not quite able to meet his eye as he appraised her.
“That’s perfect,” he whispered. “You look stunning.”
She blushed a deeper shade of red and smiled. “Thank you,” she said and turned away. “What should I wear with it?”
“A skirt,” he said. “What do you have?”
She opened the closet door to reveal some dresses, skirts, and dress shirts. Sevy pushed through the hangers until he found a loose black miniskirt that would only hit her mid-thigh.
“This one,” he said, holding it out to her. “With these,” he said, holding out a thong he had found while she was in the bathroom. The thong was neon pink and would be totally visible beneath the skirt if she moved the wrong way. When she expressed this concern to him, he pointed out that that was the whole point of wearing it.
She sighed with exasperation, but she put on the outfit as he had suggested. She found heels she could wear that wouldn’t be terrible for her feet, and she admired her reflection in the mirror. She had done her makeup before he had arrived but she touched it up with some darker, bolder colors and shades. He nodded approvingly as she walked toward him from the bathroom.
“You look perfect for your Dungeon Debut,” he said.
“Thank you,” she said. “What are you going to wear?”
“About that…” he said.
“Yes?” she asked.
“I didn’t think you would agree, so I didn’t bring any clothes with me. Can we swing by my house to pick up something more suitable?”
“Sure,” she said. She pulled her sweatshirt over her revealing shirt and grabbed her smallest purse. She just wanted to carry her necessities tonight.
He took her hand and led her out to his car. An hour later, they had arrived at his house, he had changed, and they were ready to go. It seemed early in the day to go to a dungeon, yet they were on their way anyway.
When they arrived at The Dungeon, Aralyn could feel the nerves sapping her of her energy. But she took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Are you ready?” Sevy asked, clearly indicating that he knew she was nervous.
“Yes,” she said, though she honestly wasn’t sure if that was truthful or not.
“Let’s go,” he said and got out of the car. She got out on her side and shut the door. Apparently, she didn’t shut it hard enough though because it was still open a crack. She sighed and tried to open it again, but Sevy had already locked the door. He was moving around the car unaware of her plight, but when he saw, he clicked the button to unlock the doors again. She wrenched the door open and slammed it. All she could think was that it was an excellent way to start an already stressful event. She knew it wasn’t that big of a deal. Not fully shutting the car door was, whatever, it was no big deal. But for some reason, it stung that she felt embarrassed in front of Sevy, particularly on the cusp of such an event. He smoothed a hand down the back of her neck. “Hey,” he said, and she turned to look at him. “Are you all right?” His tone conveyed concern.
“I’m fine,” she said, but she snapped it at him. He turned her around to face him and drew her into his arms.
“We don’t have to go in, you know,” he said. “We could just get back in the car and leave. We could spend the evening at your place, or I could take you home with me, or I could drop you off somewhere. Please don’t feel any pressure.”
“No, I’m fine,” she said, her voice more defeated now. “I’m just, I don’t know, nervous I guess.”
“Of course you are,” he said. “That’s natural. Going to The Dungeon is not something you’ve done before and I’m sure it’s making you nervous.”
She thought it was interesting that he assumed she hadn’t gone to a public dungeon before. Or, semi-public anyway. But she didn’t voice that particular thought. “No, I want to go in,” she insisted.
“Okay, let’s do it then,” he said, and he released her neck and took her hand in his. They walked side by side, his steps confident and sure, hers more hesitant. When they reached the doors of the building, the outer door swung open immediately to admit them.
“Do they always do that?” she asked, indicating the doors.
“For an owner they do,” he said with a wink. Special treatment already, she thought, but she didn’t respond verbally.
It took a few moments for her eyes to adjust to the darkness. Then she was able to see that a reception area greeted them. It almost looked like a doctor’s office, except no televisions were displaying specially created shows to tell you about all the things that could go wrong so you should talk to your doctor if you notice these symptoms.
But the carpet and walls were neutral, there were chairs and small tables, and even some magazines laid out. But then Aralyn did a double take, and she realized that the magazines weren’t things like People and Good Housekeeping. They were more like Playboy and Hustler and other magazines that came in black plastic wrapping.
Sevy caught her looking at them and raised an eyebrow at her. “I’ve always wanted a subscription to Playboy,” she whispered.
“Really?” he asked. “For the articles?” She nodded and he laughed, but he didn’t ask further questions.
There was a door directly in front of them that stayed shut as they approached. But to the left was a receptionist’s desk behind glass. Unlike a doctor’s office, however, the glass was tinted so they couldn’t see inside. The glass slid sideways, and a girl peered out at them.
“Ah! Sally! Nice to see you,” Sevy said, and Aralyn felt a stab of almost jealousy.
“Good to see you, too,” she replied, and he smiled at her.
“This is Aralyn. It’s her first time.” He stage whispered his second sentence and Aralyn blushed.
“I can tell,” Sally replied with a wink and Aralyn felt annoyed at that. It wasn’t her first time doing something like this, it just happened to be her first time there, but none of them knew that. “Well let’s get you signed in then,” she said, and she handed Aralyn a tablet. High tech, Aralyn thought.
She filled out a questionnaire that was happily not too prying and signed release forms about other people’s privacy, not allowing photography or video by any means, and other policies of the club. She barely read any of it because it was all familiar. She briefly thought about the fact that maybe she should pretend to be more interested in the details for Sevy’s sake but she decided that would be more effort than it was worth. She signed electronically and handed the tablet back to Sally.
“Thanks,” Sally said brightly and looked at the confirmation screen of the tablet. “You’re all set to go in now. If you come again,” she emphasized the word if, “you will have to sign in on the tablet, but of course there will be a lot less to fill out.” She smiled a simpering smile at Aralyn, and the door clicked audibly, unlocking.
Sevy pulled it open. “Thanks, Sally, I’ll take it from here.”
Aralyn swallowed hard, feeling a little satisfied that Sevy had shut Sally off from her so completely. “What would be different if I had come alone?” she asked.
“Well, you would have needed your password. And you would have been given a tour,” he said, “but I thought I could do that myself.”
“I would rather have a tour from you, Sevy,” she told him. She briefly wondered if that sounded like she was sucking up to him, but she let the thought go. She couldn’t take back her words anyway.
“So, would you rather start the tour with the Emerald room or the Electric room?” he asked.
