#Bloganuary 5-7

Hello readers! We’re back to post Bloganuary #5-7 because we got a little bit behind. This is a common theme in our lives, unfortunately. If only we could just be bloggers. Then we’d always be on time! (Maybe.)

So here is the next installment. Day 5-7:

Day 5: What is something you wish you knew how to do?

Jayden: Play the guitar. I started learning in middle school, but then I gave it up. There was no reason for me to not continue, I even had a guitar at home! I just…didn’t keep up with it. It came easily to me at the time, though, so I hope that if/when I pick it up as an adult, I will be able to learn.

Richard: Drive stick. I guess it’s becoming a mostly unnecessary skill, but it’s one of those things that is bound to come in handy someday, and I don’t know how to do it. Plus it’s cool, and I could make Jayden try to fuck the shifter.

Day 6: Who is someone that inspires you and why?

Jayden: This is a thought provoking question for me now. I used to have a ready answer for it, but that person has disappointed me of late, and so is no longer quite the inspiration they used to be. I have another one though, a friend I’ve had for almost a decade. This is someone who has made their share of mistakes in life, but they have owned them and grown from them. But it’s also someone who, through no fault of their own, has been dealt a shit hand in life. They have had struggle after struggle physically and medically, and yet, for the most part, they are able to let it roll and continue being a positive presence. But one of the things I admire most about him is that he does have bad days and he shares that with those closest to him. He has that vulnerability that’s so rare anymore. He also is a great friend, and is always willing to listen to others’ problems, even when theirs are eclipsed by his. He once told me that just because his problems were bigger didn’t invalidate mine. He is a wonderful, lifelong friend, and I admire his strength, his resilience, and his outlook on life.

Richard: I feel like I should have a less flippant answer to this question, but I’m going to go with the donkey that wants to be a Clydesdale from that Budweiser commercial. I think my life just hasn’t been particularly inspiring lately.

Day 7: What makes you laugh?

Jayden: Tickling! Also, if I can change it to “who” makes me laugh, the answer is Richard. We laugh so much together, it’s a little ridiculous. But it makes me happy, and I love that I have a partner I laugh with as much as we do.

Richard: Every time Tobey Macguire did anything in No Way Home. Especially his back. Tobey Maguire’s “My back” 2004 VS 2021 Spoilers? Probably not.

  1. Jayden, your friend sounds a lot like my father used to be. It didn’t matter if he was plagued with medical appointments, if you had a problem, Dad would listen to you.

It’s also great to read from another couple who puts laughter at the foundations of their relationship. We’ve just celebrated 14 years together last Monday (I meant to blog about that!) and I honestly don’t know where we would be without laughter. It gives you energy and keeps things from becoming too serious. I hope you will both continue to laugh together for many more years to come!
