Current Reads:
Killing Thyme by Leslie Budewitz: I love this book! It’s the third in a series, and I love the coziness of the mystery and the growth of the characters over time. Plus, having the main character be a strong, single woman in her 40s is kind of inspiring. (For the record, I am very happy in my marriage, even though I have now entered my 40s, but I definitely relate to the character in the expectations of the world on her, etc.)
Three Mothers by Hannah Beckerman: I am also reading this one for one of my book clubs. I really like it. I’m so invested, I just want to read it All. The. Time. This mystery is not very cozy, but as a mother of a teenager, it is incredibly compelling. I won’t highly recommend it until I read the ending, but I am very into it so far!
Recently Finished
We Are Not Like Them by Christine Pride and Jo Piazza: This book was really good, but really difficult to read. There is, of course, the obvious racial bias that exists in our world and the discomfort that comes with it. But honestly, the most difficult part for me was that the best friends had so much conflict. My best friend and I have literally never had that much conflict in our lives. Maybe that’s because we aren’t together every day? Maybe it’s because I just got really freaking lucky? But whatever the case, the thought of not having my best friend to reach out to if I needed her was a hard thing to read about. Heavy read, but good read.
Heartwood by Amity Gage: This book was excellent. I couldn’t put it down. I don’t even remember why I picked it up (well, listened to it on audiobook from the library), but I loved it. It was very suspenseful, and excellent. 10/10 recommend!

Culpability by Bruce Holsinger: I just put in an order for this book from the local library on recommendation from a friend. Hopefully it’s good!
Brigands & Breadknives by Travis Baldree: This I have this one on my nightstand. I might pick this one up first depending on when Culpability comes in. 🙂
