Someone I follow (Jan Matthews) posted it, and while I admit that I’m just now reading blogs from months ago, I thought it was a neat idea, so I tracked down the source (samannelizabeth.wordpress.com)

Current Reads:
Animal Farm by George Orwell: To be honest, I haven’t read much of this since I started, but only because I had to finish The South before it was due back to the library.
The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose: A friend recommended this to me, and the library book came available. The premise is definitely interesting, so I was excited to listen to it… But… I don’t like it. The writing is compelling. The characters are great. But the author really needed to do more research about how criminal cases go (and I’m not a lawyer, nor have I ever been personally involved in a criminal case). But the reality is that they keep talking about how it’s an open and shut case, and he will definitely be found guilty, except 1/3 of the way in and there is a LOT of evidence that he didn’t do it, and several other realistic suspects. A jury would definitely not convict. (I know, I know, nothing is a guarantee, but it’s certainly not a clear cut case.)
The South by Tash Aw: I am almost done with this short novel. I’ll say more when I get to the end.
Recently Finished
I haven’t finished anything this week, which is shocking! But I am almost done with The Perfect Marriage and The South.
Coming Up Next
No changes here…
(Still) Brigands & Breadknives by Travis Baldree: It’s still on my nightstand and I still want to read it. Hopefully I will be able to soon!
The Rose Arbor by Rhys Bowen: This is up next in one of my book clubs, and I’m looking forward to it. Mystery!
