What’s Good Wednesday? 1/25/23

What’s Good Wednesday?

We did this long ago, but we decided to bring back and a once-a-month chance to share what’s going well in our lives, and welcome you to share what’s good in your lives! Please comment below and let us know what’s good! Feel free to be vague or specific. We’re just happy to share good things!

It’s the end of January, thank goodness! This has been a very stressful month that was looming over us before and during. We’re so glad to be almost done with it and onto the next thing! We’ve been able to spend some much-needed time catching up on cleaning and organizing, and enjoying down time together.

We’ve done some fun things this month like:

  • Visit a knife store
  • Go to the drive-in movies
  • Have a reading date
  • Have of great sex

I’m sure there’s more, but it’s a start to reflect back on! What’s gone well for you this month?

TMI Tuesday: January 24th, 2023

The author of TMI Tuesday has decided to end her reign, but we have decided to continue on, going back to the archives. In fact, January 24th in 2012 was also a Tuesday. So here we are with an archived set of questions.

Would you rather…?

I [the original TMI Tuesday author] am a Graham Norton fan. He has a newish show called “Would You Rather” that airs on BBC America (you know the Top Gear-Gordon Ramsay channel…ugh!!). I grabbed these fun questions from WYR.

1. Would you rather wear the same pair of unwashed socks for 2 years or wear the same pair of unwashed underwear for 1 year? Explain.

Jayden: Socks. At least they’re further away from my nose. I’m a sloppy slut most of the time, so my underwear would be awful.

Richard: Socks. At least I can change my sock liner.

2. Would you rather eat a baby or be eaten by a giant baby? Explain.

Jayden: I’d rather not get eaten, thank you very much. Plus, I mean, veal is good…

Richard: Veal is ok, but I’m more of a lamb guy.

3. Would you rather steal money from your Grandfather in the past or steal money from a Grandchild in the future? Why?

Jayden: My grandfather had a lot of money, so I would steal from him. (He was generous with it, so it was never even a consideration, but he wouldn’t miss it.)

Richard: My grandfather on my dad’s side had hundreds of dollars stashed around the house. The junk company found it when they cleaned out. I’ll just take some of that, he obviously didn’t miss it.

4. Would you rather be trapped in a cave full of vampire bats or put a large jar full of bees (opened) in your pants?

Jayden: Bats! Bats aren’t as bad as their reputation.

Richard: SKY PUPPERS!

5. Would you rather be a person with a head that is noticeably big for your body or have a head that is disproportionately small compared to the rest of your body?

Jayden: Small head. It’s always easier to find things to put on smaller body parts than larger ones.

Richard: I would like a large lower head. Sorry, not sorry, Jayden’s holes.

Bonus (not from WYR): Would you rather have sex with your significant other in a sex club with all eyes and a spotlight on you OR would you rather get gang-banged & groped in darkness by a bunch of strangers.

Jayden: Oh jeeze. Both?

Richard: The first one. I don’t mind putting on a show. I don’t think I’d like getting gangbanged. Groped is good though.

Hello readers! We’re here with the answer to the latest question in our Bloganuary series!

What’s a lie you tell yourself?

Jayden: That I’m going to have more time someday. I don’t know how to do down time, so I always fill it with things. But at least now I fill it with things (and people) I love instead of fill it to run away from something.

#Bloganuary 22

Hello readers! We’re here with the answer to the latest question in our Bloganuary series!

What was your dream job as a child?

Jayden: For a brief time, I wanted to be a marine biologist. But mostly, I wanted to be a teacher. There was, of course, also the times I wanted to be a famous musician, or better yet, wanted my dad to be a famous musician so I would get the money but not have to do the work. 😉 (Plus it was my dad’s dream, so I wanted it for him.)

Richard: Also marine biologist (same as everyone). I was briefly obsessed with specifically being a paperback writer due to the Beatles song.

#Bloganuary 21

Hello readers! We’re here with the answer to the latest question in our Bloganuary series!

Who is your favorite author and why?

Jayden: Mary Higgins Clark. She is the queen of mystery! I was introduced to her when my grandmother passed away and my mom handed me Stillwatch from my grandmother’s closet. It was a book from her TBR (to be read) pile. I fell in love with this powerful female author who was everything I wanted to be. To this day, she’s the only author I collect novels for, and I have a good portion of them. She is phenomenal.

Richard: I’m really bad at these questions. It turns into a philosophical, “but what does favorite mean?” thing. I think we’ve had this come up before and I’ve thrown out Naomi Novik, KA Applegate, and maybe Kim Harrison once? Let’s go with Michael Stackpole today. While I (like every other millennial) has a “remember when you found Animorphs?” story (Borders? or a bookstore that would soon become one, Oxford Valley Mall, 1997, book #7 The Stranger) I think Stackpole is probably the most important author for my overall development as a reader/writer.

It’s a twisty, nerdy road. I don’t really remember a time before I was a Star Wars fan as a kid. My dad brought a demo disk for TIE Fighter home (probably circa 1994, based on the release date) and I was already really into it. That would also be the year that the Battletech cartoon came out. I maintain that it is a far better show than it’s generally given credit for. As a 5 year old, the fact that it had giant robots and something resembling a coherent plot made it the best thing ever. (These will converge eventually, I swear.)

The next year, 1995 (again, guesstimating based on the release date), my dad proudly came back to the car (where I was probably reading something considerably less cool than Animorphs or a Michael Stackpole book) with a copy of Mechwarrior 2. He (correctly) realized that anything with the Battletech logo on it would obviously be awesome. I think he also played the demo and probably saw that it won every freaking video game award that year. Or one of his German gamer friends told him to play it. That was how we got a bunch of game recs back in the day.

Fast forward to probably 1997, when my dad got a copy of The Krytos Trap from the library. I liked it (but, again, I’d have liked just bout anything Star Wars at that point.) Around the same time, we also got a copy of a strategy guide for Mechwarrior 2. As I recall, it was not a terribly useful strategy guide (aiming and driving at the same time is hard for an 8 year old!) But this was back in the good old days when strategy guides would have all kinds of cool behind the scenes stuff. So the first 50 pages or so were less about the game, and more about the history of Battletech, including book recommendations. Stackpole’s Warrior trilogy came highly recommended (with good reason, it’s probably the best thing he wrote in the setting.)

So off we went to the library, to use those old school loud keyboards with the plastic couch protectors on them. While they didn’t have the Warrior books they did have the Rogue Squadron (fuck you Disney!) series. I’m pretty sure those were the first “adult” books I read. That’s mostly true, I think I tried to read War of The Worlds in like 3rd grade. It didn’t go very well.

I found a ton of my other favorite authors via the Star Wars EU and Battletech series. Looking back, it’s kind of weird to see how all the pieces fell together (Star Wars>Battletech Cartoon>Mechwarrior>Strategy Guide>Rogue Squadron>Battletech Books…) None of them are that odd. I was a nerdy boy in the 90s, of course I liked Star Wars. But it was an interesting and meandering road. A few of those authors are still publishing today, and the ones that aren’t are always a gem when they pop up at a used bookstore. I am glad that I fell down the Battletech side of the rabbit hole instead of the 40K one. (Otherwise, this post would probably be about Dan Abnett. Who is fine, I guess.)

Anyway, I’d say Stackpole has a strong claim to the “best military sci-fi media tie-in” author title. How impressive this is is up to you. I remember finding his website back when I was in high school, and a lot of his advice for writers is really good. Don’t edit until you’re done a draft. Start with interesting characters and let them drive the story. I think balance is really his biggest strength as an author. Finding the ratio between political intrigue (giving your new wife a china set of all the planets you’re going to conquer as a wedding gift? YES!) personal drama, humor (again, FUCK YOU DISNEY!) and mech/starfighter battles isn’t easy. He gets his explosions wrong sometimes, but we forgiven him.

#Bloganuary 20

Hello readers! We’re here with the answer to the latest question in our Bloganuary series!

What irritates you about the home you live in??

Jayden: We have a loft apartment, so there is no bedroom door and the walls don’t go all the way up, so there’s no privacy.

Richard: There’s no utility sink.

Determined Dominatrix – Chapter 3

Welcome back for Chapter 3! If you missed Chapters 1 and 2, you should jump back to Chapter 1 to start from the beginning of the story. It’s a fun story about a Pro Domme whose favorite pet is moving away. What will she do without him? Read on to find out about their last month together before the big move!
~Jayden

Chapter 3:

One month is not a lot of time. It sounds like a lot, but it isn’t really. I want to get more time with James, but it’s hard to fit it in around our schedules. I have my client base to work with, and he has things to wrap up in his life before he moves to New England, however temporarily.

“Monday?” I ask in text to him. We have a standing Wednesday session, but I’m trying to find another time we can get together.

“After 8 pm?” he asks.

That’s later than I want because I have an early Tuesday meeting, but I agree.

When Monday finally rolls around, I find my thoughts drifting to what it will be like without my weekly sessions with James. How many more clients could I take on to fill that void? Most of my clients aren’t weekly. Most are once every two weeks or once a month. Freeing up a weekly spot is a lot. But I can’t think of anyone I want to invite to take that spot. And then there will be video sessions with James. I’m not sure we’ll be able to keep our standing Wednesday time slot, but I am kind of hoping we will.

The clock seems to slow down as 8 approaches, but then I hear the bell signaling someone in my driveway. No one can approach my space without tripping that bell. It’s a safety feature. I deactivate the alarm system and buzz the door when I see James kneeling on the stoop in front of my door.

“Come in, pet,” I say into the intercom.

He opens the door and comes up the stairs to my space. I’m waiting there in the boots I wore when we met at the coffee shop, a black lace thong, and a matching bra. “Mistress,” he pants when he gets to the top of the stairs.

“Yes, pet?”

“You are beautiful.”

“Thank you, pet.”

He crawls across the foyer floor to me when he gets to the top of the stairs.

“You’re overdressed.”

“I’m sorry, Mistress. I was overcome with a need to be close to you.”

I pet the top of his head, running my fingers through his short, dark hair. He looks up at me with desperation in his eyes. “When was the last time you came, pet?”

“When I was last with you, Mistress.”

“I gave you permission to masturbate, pet.”

“I know, Mistress, but it’s hard to get off when you aren’t there.”

I nod. I know it is, but he usually manages it at least once between our sessions. I know he tries every day.

As we talk, he strips out of his clothes and leaves them neatly in a pile on the chair in the foyer. When he’s done, he puts on the collar I’ve left for him. He likes to do some puppy play, but he only wears his collar when he’s with me. I keep a special one that’s just for him.

He puts the leash in his mouth folded up so it’s not dragging on the floor and crawls over to me.

“Good boy,” I say, petting his head before taking the leash from him. I clip it to the collar, and I can hear his sigh of relief as he knows I own him. “Come,” I say, and I start to walk down the hallway that leads to the large living room that serves as my play space.

I have several large pieces of furniture that I move around periodically depending on my needs. The large cage is positioned in the center of the room for this session. There’s a spanking bench off to one side of the room, a couch that pulls out into a bed, and a large frame with a St. Andrew’s Cross at one end that takes up a good portion of the room. And then there are baskets and bins and piles of toys. Everything you could imagine is in the room somewhere. If it’s not sitting out, it’s probably in one of the closets.

“Ready, pet?”

“Yes, Mistress,” he whispers.

But he has no idea what he’s ready for since I haven’t shared with him any of my plans for today.

Thanks for checking out Chapter 3! I hope you’ll come back next Friday for Chapter 4 to find out what Mistress’s pet has in store for him. And don’t forget to check out TMI Tuesday every Tuesday!

Go on to Chapter 4!

Possibilities by Richard

Photo from https://marquessamatthews.com/2022/12/10/my-next-12-2023/

Each month, Jayden and I are going to journal about a different word, inspired by Marquessa Matthews. This month is Possibilities.

I’m excited by all the possibilities that graduating will bring. Not having to worry about making sure I read the books on my book list every semester (even though I picked most of them), and being able to write whatever I want are the two obvious ones. I’m excited for the raise I’ll get at work, which will make it possible for Jayden and I to be in a better place financially. I’m excited to have something written that’s actually worth pitching (and thus possibly get published).

Outside of that, I’m excited for the (extremely high) possibility of snuggles.

Hello readers! We’re here with the answer to the latest question in our Bloganuary series!

What’s your favorite meal to cook and/or eat?

Jayden: To cook: chicken, rice, sour cream, and cream of mushroom soup. It’s a recipe my mom adapted years ago, so it’s comfort food for me. It’s my favorite dish that I can make myself.

To eat: I don’t think this counts as a meal, but I would make one out of it. Richard makes the best sourdough biscuits. Yum!

Richard: I’ve really been enjoying experimenting with chili lately. Jayden can’t have beans, so I’ve had to change my recipe a little (celery and carrots help give it some texture). I’ve been working on a sweet, medium spice turkey recipe lately.

Making chili also means I have to get my corn bread game on point.

And as far as favorite to eat… chili is a great excuse to pull out a spork.

TMI Tuesday: January 17th, 2023

The author TMI Tuesday has decided to end her reign, but we have decided to continue on, going back to the archives. In fact, January 17th in 2012 was also a Tuesday. So here we are with an archived set of questions.

Happy TMI Tuesday. Let’s play Hoo Doo (Who Do?). Answer the following questions and elaborate as you wish. Your answers can be real and truthful, fun and flirty, or crazy and whacky.

Who or Who(m) do you want to:

1. Play naked twister with?

2. Love?

3. Excites you beyond belief?

4. Enjoy ass play with?

5. Shower with?

6. Undress?

7. Rim?

8. Elope with?

Bonus: Who do you want to wake up in the arms of? Why?

Jayden: Well, uh, this is easy. Richard. I want to do all those things and more with Richard, and… I’ve done everything on that list except play naked twister.

(Richard decided this list was too long to make parody answers to, so he’s just skipping it, haha.)

#Bloganuary 17

Hello readers! We’re here with the answer to the latest question in our Bloganuary series!

Describe the happiest day of your life.

Jayden: Our wedding day. It was near perfect. Richard had a good time. My daughter had a good time. My friends and family had a good time. It was wonderful. I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Richard: In the winter of 2020-2021, Jayden and I got snowed in together. We had just started dating, and it was a record breaking snow. We spent three days drinking tea, having snow ball fights, and snuggling (and of course, having sex). WHERE’S MY SNOW, WINTER!?

#Bloganuary 16

Hello readers! We’re here with the answer to the latest question in our Bloganuary series!

Do you have a memory linked to a smell?

Jayden: Yankee Candle’s MidSummer’s Night brings me right back to middle school. Hanging out with my neighbor (who I was hopelessly in love with) on his back porch, listening to music with that scent in the air. The first time I smelled that candle, it took me right back.

Richard: We just did a sense memory piece at grad school last week!

Cold, dark, and sweet. That’s the smell of our basement. Same as most people’s I think. But it doesn’t go with the rest of it. Sound? Plasma rifles jrrrrr, exploding fireballs, cries of pain. Touch? Cold, sharp metal. Warm skin. Taste? Bitter coffee. Sour pretzels. And all I can see is hundreds of demons, dripping with blood.

I’m 4 years old, sitting on my dad’s knee at his desk while he plays Doom.

#Bloganuary 15

Hello readers! We’re here with the answer to the latest question in our Bloganuary series!

What fear have you conquered?

Jayden: In about two years, I got a new job, left a marriage, moved out, got remarried, and started a doctoral program. By the way, I hate change. I’m much happier now, but it was very scary at the time.

Richard: I’m embracing my sexuality and writing about bisexuality and erasure in my thesis.

#Bloganuary 14

Hello readers! We’re here with the answer to the latest question in our Bloganuary series!

What is your preferred mode of travel?

Jayden & Richard: The train. We both love it, and we both hate that the passenger train infrastructure in our area sucks.

#Bloganuary 13

Hello readers! We’re here with the answer to the latest question in our Bloganuary series!

If you had a billion US dollars, how would you spend it?

Jayden: I would call a financial planner, and then quit my day job. After that, I would be looking at who needs that money the most in my life, and how can I invest it so I never have to work again?

Richard: Also call a financial planner. And I would want some very expensive Swiss Army Knives and Scotch.

Determined Dominatrix – Chapter 2

Welcome back! If you missed Chapter 1, be sure to go check it out before you read today’s post! I hope you’re excited to find out what news our pet has to share. I’m sure at least some of you will be surprised. I was, too! Let’s find out…

~Jayden

(I bet he’s pregnant! ~Richard)

Chapter 2:

My pet takes another sip of his coffee as I wait for him to share his news, tapping my foot on the tile floor. I can’t even tell if it’s good or bad news. I just see how nervous he is.

Instead of saying anything, he pulls a piece of paper out of his pocket and slides it across the table. It’s folded neatly, and I take a second to appreciate that he knows how much I hate messily folded papers. It’s one of my quirks.

I open the paper and begin to read.

“Dear James Bell,

We are excited to welcome you to the Masters of Fine Arts Program at Boston University! Our semester starts on August 29th, 2022. We look forward to seeing you on campus then.”

I stop reading and look up at him.

“This is great, pet,” I say. “Is this the program you were hoping to get into?”

“Yes, Ma’am.”

“So why do you look so sad?”

“Because that’s far away from you, Mistress.”

I do some fast thinking. “It’s what, seven hours?”

“Give or take,” he agrees.

“That’s not so far.”

He whimpers. Although he’s a client, he was my first client. I started working with him, and my client base grew until I made it my full-time job, and now I have so many submissives I don’t know what to do with them all. But what I do know is that James is my favorite. I won’t ever tell him that, but it’s the truth.

“How long is the program?” I ask.

“Three years,” he says. “But I do have breaks.”

“See, it’s fine, pet. You’ll come back to me on your breaks.” My words are kind, but I feel a little hollow in my stomach at the thought of not seeing him for months at a time. I have never allowed myself to consider having feelings for my clients. They are clients, after all. It’s bad form to get too involved with paying customers, especially ones who are just so damn cute. Like James.

“Of course I will, Ma’am.”

I can see the “but” that follows in his face, but he doesn’t say it out loud until I prompt him. “But what, pet?”

“But months away is a long time.”

He’s been my client for three years. In all that time, I’ve seen him almost every week. We certainly haven’t gone more than two weeks without seeing each other. He comes over to my space, and we start with talking. He tells me everything about his week, and then we have a session. Each session is a little different, but in the end, after he leaves, I have to masturbate at least twice to relieve the pent-up feelings I have from playing with him. I have thought many times about having him make me cum, and I am sure he would, but that crosses the line between professional Dominatrix to prostitute. (For the record, I don’t have a problem with prostitution, it’s just not what I want for myself.)

“What will I do without you, Mistress?”

I tap my long nails on the table, and they make a little clicking sound as I process this information. “I think, pet,” I say slowly, “that we can do some long-distance things. We can do phone calls and video calls.”

“But what about,” he lowers his voice, looking around to make sure no one can overhear him, “our sessions? I can’t get off if I don’t have a Dominatrix to control me.”

“I can do that, pet. Don’t worry.”

He visibly relaxes. “Are you sure, Mistress? We’ve never done anything except in person.”

“We haven’t,” I agree, “but I am confident I can help you get off.”

I watch the thought cross his mind, “But you have with others?” he asks.

I nod slowly. “Does that bother you, pet?”

He pauses, his whole body going still for a moment while he processes my question. It’s one of the things I appreciate about him. He doesn’t react without thinking it through first. “No, Mistress. I know you have other pets. I am honored to be among them.”

“Good,” I say, glancing at my watch. It’s July 29th. I have one more month with my pet before he goes to school. What will we do with our remaining time?

Thanks for reading Chapter 2! Come back next Friday for Chapter 3, and don’t forget to check out TMI Tuesday every Tuesday!

Go on to Chapter 3!

#Bloganuary 12

Hello readers! We’re here with the answer to the latest question in our Bloganuary series!

What chore do you find the most challenging to do?

Jayden: Pack Richard’s lunch. I eat the same thing for lunch every day and even so, I have a list of what goes in my lunch posted on the refrigerator. Richard doesn’t like to eat the same thing every day (totally fair), so I have to really think about what I’m putting in it, and sometimes I forget stuff. Thankfully, we planned for that, and he keeps extra snacks at work. 🙂

#Bloganuary 11

Hello readers! We’re here with the answer to the latest question in our Bloganuary series!

How do you define success?

Jayden: Success is such a broad word.

Success as an author: being able to do it full time.

Success as a blogger: having enough followers. (What’s enough?)

Success as a mother: having a independent children who can take care of themselves.

Success as a partner: helping bring balance and happiness to my partner’s life.

Those are just a few. Tell us in the comments how you define success.
