W is for Warfare #AtoZChallenge

For this year’s A to Z Blog Challenge, Richard and Jayden are worldbuilding! Using Rebekah Loper‘s book The A-Zs of Worldbuilding as a guide, we have teamed up to give descriptions of the world we’re creating, along with snippets of what it’s like to exist in the world. Enjoy!

Background by Jayden for W is for Warfare

We’ve covered a lot of the military aspects of Adrilachson in our posts so far (J is for Judicial Systems, for example), but we haven’t discussed the use of psychological warfare yet. With the Dommes in power already, it’s a difficult structure to break. And when the men are turned on by the power of the Dommes, it becomes even harder for them to break out of their submissive shells. The psychological warfare can be used within their own ranks as well as to keep the community safe from dinosaurs. Here’s a short story on some of those ranks…

Story by Richard:

(Apparently, we’re just doing 40K memes now.)

“The beatings will continue until morale improves!” barked the Dominatrix-Sergeant, bringing the paddle down on the private’s ass.

“Yes, Mistress! Thank you, Mistress!” he moaned.

“Which one of you would rather get paddled by me than face down a charging Triceratops?” she asked.

“I would, Goddess!” cried one of the troopers.

“That’s just because you’re a fucking painslut!” she said. “But I know what you need instead…” she reached into the holster on her belt and pulled out a feather. “You two, hold him,” she ordered.

Two of the other BEARS grabbed the man’s arms as she grabbed his leg, yanking his boot off and applying the feather for additional motivation. The man squirmed and laughed until tears poured down his cheeks.

“You’re right, Mistress. I’ll fight whatever you want, just stop.”

She huffed, putting her boot up in his face. “Get this spit shined, and maybe I’ll give you your own boot back,” she said, snapping her fingers. One of the other men kneeled down behind her, honored to form a seat.

“Everyone settle in. I think this morale booster is going to take a while…”

  1. GI Jane quote:

    Master Chief John Urgayle:
Pain is your friend, your ally, it will tell you when you are seriously injured, it will keep you awake and angry, and remind you to finish the job and get the hell home. But you know the best thing about pain?

    Lt. Jordan O’Neil:
    Don’t know!

    Master Chief John Urgayle:
It lets you know you’re not dead yet!

So… there you go. That’s kind of related to your post.
