Jayden is back this week with a new story! If you haven’t read our other stories, that’s okay. This one is brand new! We’re writing about resilient submissives on our kinky blog. And honestly, this one is more romantic and suspenseful than kinky. We’ll see what happens after Z!

Terror. Terror is all I feel as the tail lights of the car in front of me disappear around the turn, and I find myself terribly alone. The check engine light started flashing, but I am only a five minute drive from home. If I can just limp it home, I can deal with it in the morning. It’s dark and raining, and I just want to be home. As a single mom, I had just dropped my daughter off at a sleepover and I am so looking forward to a quiet night alone. A bath, a book, a mug of tea. But no. Now I’m out in the middle of nowhere with no car, in the rain.

I sigh and go to pick up my phone to call for a tow truck. And that’s when I realize I don’t have my phone. I must have left it. Where? At home? Probably. It wasn’t like me to forget my phone, but my pre-teen daughter loves to listen to music through my car stereo, so I didn’t hook my phone up like I usually would.

My daughter’s friend lives in an upscale neighborhood, and I am a five minute drive away. It’s not *that* far, but whether I go on or go back, it’s a long walk. I do the quick math and figure it’s probably between two and three miles. I run through alternative options. I can sleep in my car, but it’s already getting chilly. I can walk to a convenience store. There’s definitely one before my apartment, but it still has to be two miles of dark road between me and the store. Or I can go to one of these shipping warehouses and hope that they run a shift at this hour. A lot of them do, right?
