Welcome to the A to Z Challenge! I’ve been doing this for a decade, and I have many past A to Zs you can read if you’re interested in a longer story. This is going to be a continuous story, so you want to make sure you start with the Theme Reveal! (But I’m going to keep the posts short, so it’s easier to keep up.) I’m notoriously bad at reading other blogs, even though I love it when I do, so make sure to leave your link in the comments so I can hop over to see what you’re up to, even if you aren’t participating in A to Z!
X is for eX-Fiance
Amelia: March 28th, 2026
I want to tell him that he’s wrong, that it doesn’t matter, that me and Calum were never as electric as me and Frank… but I know that that’s not fair to Frank. I don’t want Frank to be a rebound, though by definition, he is. It’s all happened so fast, but I can tell that Frank and I are good together, at least physically. But even without that, hours passed like minutes the first time we spent any time together. I want to make sure that I don’t ruin that. But my physical need is strong, for sure.
“I mean, he’s not my fiance anymore…”
“Well no, but only because he died. Suddenly, I might add.”
“I know, I know,” I say, and I stop fighting Frank and let him pull away from me. “You must think I’m a monster.”
He’s shaking his head before I even finish my sentence. “Absolutely not. I think you’re a beautiful woman who’s heart broken, for good reason–”
I cut him off before he can finish, “Frank, I don’t want you to think that’s the only reason I’m… the only reason we’re… that I just want…” I sigh in frustration. I can’t get my words out.
“It’s okay,” he says.
“No, it’s not okay. You’re an amazing guy, and I can see that we can be really good together. I don’t want to ruin it by rushing things. But you’re hard to resist.”
One side of his mouth turns up in a smirk.
“Who me?”
