J is for Judicial Systems #AtoZChallenge

For this year’s A to Z Blog Challenge, Richard and Jayden are worldbuilding! Using Rebekah Loper‘s book The A-Zs of Worldbuilding as a guide, we have teamed up to give descriptions of the world we’re creating, along with snippets of what it’s like to exist in the world. Enjoy!

Background by Jayden for J is for Judicial Systems:

There are community leaders who create and enforce the laws. The same group has been in power as long as anyone can remember. Each time one of them dies, they are replaced by another who is selected by those already in power. There is no voting. All of the leaders are women.

The laws are designed to keep power to those in power. The leaders have a team of men who enforce the laws. They are the submissives of the Dommes in power. They all faithfully serve their leaders. No one outwardly opposes the Dommes or…they aren’t heard from again.

Story by Richard:

Damon looked over his shoulder. Mistress X was standing there, looking down at him from atop her six inch stiletto boots. She was flanked on either side by a pair of her BEARS (Bondage Enforcement Armed Response Squad), men nearly as tall as her, dressed in leather strap harnesses that met in a large O ring in the center of their hairy chests. The men were armed with short clubs that they slapped against their palms, while Mistress X had the end of a whip coiled around her hand.

“I don’t see what the big deal is. I don’t want to be in charge of Adirlachson, just her,” he said, nodding his head towards the woman standing next to him with her head down. Both of them wore heavy boots, cargo pants, a sweater, and a jacket. Hardly flattering, but they’d need it.

“The idea of a man being in charge of a woman is offensive enough,” Mistress X said. “That you struck her, humiliated her, and then enjoyed her at your own discretion is beyond comprehension. You’re lucky I didn’t have you killed on the spot.”

“No, you’d prefer to let the dinos do your dirty work for you. And it’s not like Annie didn’t enjoy herself either.”

“That’s right,” the girl said. “I love pleasing Master however he’ll have me. There’s nothing wrong with women submitting to men! Plenty of other girls–”

“Shut up!” Damon said. Annie looked up at him, terror painted on her face. He rarely raised his voice to her in anger like that.

“What if I leave her here? I’m the one you have a problem with.”

Mistress X shook her head. “Only if she’s willing to give up the names of your fellow deviants, otherwise she’ll be better off eaten by raptors than what I have planned for her.”

“I’ll never tell you,” Annie said, and then turned to Damon. “And you’re as crazy as she thinks you are if you believe I’ll let you go.”

Damon shook his head. “Let’s just get this over with,” he said. “See you later, Miss X. Good luck with your evil empire. You should try switching every once in a while, let someone put something besides a stick up your ass.”

He turned and started walking, Annie following behind him. She tried to talk to him a few times, but he stayed silent for the first ten minutes or so, until they were deep enough in the forest.

“Alright. This is far enough. I don’t think they’ll bother to follow us. Out of sight, out of mind and all that.”

“That bitch,” Annie said. “I’d love to see you take that whip from her and show her how to really handle it!”

Damon grimaced, “I’d rather never see her again, let alone do a scene with her.” He reached into one of his jacket pockets. “Here, I snuck this out for you. Not quite your style, but it’ll have to do for now.”

He pulled out a black leather collar with a lead attached.

“Oh, Master!” She eagerly bent forward, presenting her neck for him to close the collar on. “It’s not quite as nice as the one you got me for last year, but any leash with you on the other end is perfect for me.”

Damon laughed and started walking again, careful not to pull the lead too tight as they picked their way around rocks and trees.

“We’ll see if you’re saying that when we’re starving to death in a week,” he said.

“Won’t happen,” Annie said. “You were right about how some women like being subs to men, and I’m sure you’re right about the lost tribes too.”

“Some nasty sluts having a forbidden kink is a lot more likely than hundreds of people living outside of Adirlachson,” he said.

Annie just shrugged, “I don’t know. The way they talk about things back there, you’d think it was impossible for a woman to like bending over and having her ass beaten black and blue. If there’s one city, there’s no reason there can’t be more.”

The two of them headed vaguely south for days, traveling by day, huddling together by night. What few supplies they had were mostly used up by the end of the week. They found a few creeks and streams to refill their water, but not much food. Their stomachs growled as they stumbled through the brush. They were leaning against a tree when they heard something thrashing through the woods on their way towards them.

A raptor burst through the bushes, feathers seemingly polished to a glowing shine. On its back, a woman carrying a rifle looked down at them, the red dot of the laser sight tracing over Annie’s collar. The beast snarled at them, but didn’t charge to finish them off. Both of them were too exhausted for bravado, staring blankly up into the face of their death or salvation. After a long moment, the woman spoke.

“Don’t you have that backwards?” she asked, nodding towards the leash…
