The author of TMI Tuesday has decided to end her reign, but we have decided to continue on, going back to the archives. We’re going to continue with 2013, and now we’re back on the same date, even (except we’re more than a few weeks behind. Oof.)! So here we are with an archived set of questions.
TMI Tuesday: June 25, 2013

Sex Talk & Sex Ed
June is Adult Sex Ed Month (twitter: #AdultSexEdMonth). The movement was started by blogger @GoodDirtyWoman on twitter. Please read more here: http://agoodwomansdirtymind.com/june-is-adultsexedmonth/
This week’s TMI Tuesday questions were inspired by Sex-Ed writer Jon Pressick and his #dailysexdiscussion that happens on twitter.
1. Have you ever investigated having an open relationship?
– Have you tried to have an open relationship?
Jayden: I have, and I have. I was in an open marriage for over a decade. Or at least, it was supposed to be open. It didn’t work well for us, but that was an us problem, not a problem with open relationships in general.
Richard: A couple times.
2. Do you have any sexual phobias?
– What have you done to manage or overcome them?
Jayden: Not really. I had a thing about blow jobs once upon a time after a non-consensual encounter, but that was over two decades ago.
Richard: I don’t think so.
3. What is the best new sexual activity you have tried in 2013?
Jayden: Well, see, it’s 2024… I don’t know what new thing we’ve tried this year. Maybe Richard will remember something.
Richard: WE GOT A FLOGGER! (I used one once or twice, but now we actually have one and I’m trying to get better with it.)
4. Have you ever called into a sex advice radio/television show or written to a sex advice columnist?
– Was it helpful?
Jayden: It wasn’t sex advice, but I did call into a relationship advice podcast a few years back.
Richard: And then her ex-husband randomly picked that one episode to listen to. Awwwkwarrrd.
5. Would you use the services of a sex therapist? Why or why not?
Jayden: Sure. It might be fun to explore new facets of sex, even though we have a very healthy sex life.
Richard: I’d give it a try. I’d give most things a try.
6. Should sex therapists be allowed to engage in actual sexual activities with clients? Why or why not?
I highly recommend watching the movie “The Sessions” based on a true story of how a sex therapist helped a disabled man live a full, rich life that included sex. Movie trailer: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1866249/
Jayden: If it’s consensual, I don’t have an issue with it.
Richard: Yeah.
Bonus: Have you read any adult sex ed books lately? What do you recommend?
Jayden: Nope. I’ve been too busy reading other things lately.
Richard: Me neither.
