TMI Tuesday

1.Would you rather have one nipple or two belly buttons?

Two belly buttons. I love my nipples. I’d take three, haha. Okay, maybe not, but it’s better than the alternative.

2. Would you rather always feel like someone is following you, but no one is, or always feel like someone is watching you, even though no one is?

I would rather feel like someone is watching me. I might like that. 😉

3. Would you rather have sex in a cave frequented by tourists or sex in a tree house in your parents’ backyard?

A cave frequented by tourists. Dangerous! Exciting! Sexy!

4. Would you rather be unable to use search engines or unable to use social media?

Search engines. I might be a tad addicted to social media. Plus, it’s fun to try to use our memories to figure out things of the past.

5. Would you rather get one free round trip international plane ticket every year or be able to fly domestic anytime for free?

One free round trip. I wouldn’t have the time for all that domestic travel anyway. Although, I do have a lot of friends spread out over the country and I would love to come visit.

TMI Tuesday

1. What is the most useless thing you know how to do?

I can wiggle my ears? That’s the best I can come up with.

2. Do you use sex to relieve stress? How?

Oh definitely. Being submissive, and getting a good beating is a HUGE stress reliever. I posted about that not too long ago, in fact.

3. What sex act or position did not thrill you until you tried it?

Golden showers. I definitely was not interested. And then I did a challenge on Fetlife (and I’m not one to back down from a challenge), and it turns out, I really like it.

4. What is the most unusual but fun sexual encounter you have had?

“Unusual” is difficult for me. I mean, the fact that my husband and I sleep with with other people on a regular basis is pretty unusual for most people I know, but probably not very unusual for most of my blog readers!

5. What is something that can happen in the middle of sex that will make you put on your clothes and walk out

Political talk. Specifically in support of a certain person who shall not be named.

Bonus: What was a random compliment that someone gave you that really stuck in your memory?

My smile lights up the room, like sunshine!

New Year! #1,000,000Words

We are now 3 days into 2020 and I am super psyched about my writing!

I used Rebekah Loper’s book The A-Zs of Worldbuilding to build a world! And now I’m writing in it! I definitely see series potential from this world, too. I’ve never gone this far away from reality before, and I am super excited to see where it leads. I’m also working on my A to Z Blog Challenge for 2020. I’m sure we’ll start hearing about that in the coming months.

Current stats: I have written 15,308 words so far (and I haven’t written today yet)! Even if I don’t write today, that puts me 7110 words ahead of where I need to be.

I also hope to have an announcement in the coming weeks about a new published novel! So things are exciting here on the writing front!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday season, and that your January isn’t too dreary.

What am I leaving behind in 2019?

Marquessa Matthews over at marquessamatthews.com wrote a great blog post asking what ONE THING will you leave behind in 2019?

I noticed that a lot of people around me had a pretty terrible year. I won’t say that my 2019 was all good, but the good definitely outweighed the bad. I’m excited to step into 2020, but there are a lot of things I am taking forward with me from 2019.

But when I turn that on its head and ask myself what I want to leave behind, the answer is clear to me: I want to leave behind my determination to be perfect.

No one is perfect. My favorite writers have typos in their work, even with professional editors. As I re-read some of my favorite novels, I notice inconsistencies in small details. And it doesn’t make me love the novel or the author any less. If anything, it makes me love them more to see that they are human just like me.

So, in 2020, I hope to be less perfect, and publish more. And definitely write more, since my goal is 1,000,000 words in 2020! (Does anyone want to join me on that? My friend Nicki is. In fact, it was her idea. And I am so excited!)

No matter how good (or bad) your 2019 was, here’s hoping 2020 is even better!

Say “I love you…”

say-i-love-you-without-using-those-three-words-go-25669505

Tonight, my husband said I love you without those three words. After a grueling day that ended with multiple meltdowns (from me and our child), I sat down to do bills. He came up behind me and said, “Do you need a beating?” I looked up at him in surprise and he said, “I know when you get stressed, sometimes you need that release.”

And damn if he isn’t right.

TMI Tuesday

TMI Tuesday, the Christmas edition.

1. Have you ever kissed someone under mistletoe?

Of course! I love mistletoe!

2. Eggnog or hot chocolate?

Eggnog, I guess, but I’m not super fond of either.

3. Colored or white lights on a Christmas tree?

Colored lights. Rainbow it up! I used to love rearranging the lights on the tree so there weren’t too many of one color in a clump.

4. Real or fake Christmas tree?

Fake, but only because I’m allergic to real.

5. What tops your Christmas tree?

A star, usually.

6. Candy canes, yuck or yum?

They’re okay. The fruit ones are better.

7. What is your favorite holiday dessert?

Cookies! Peanut Butter, to be exact.

Bonus: Are you going on holiday during the December holiday season? Where?

I am! Well, I’m visiting my husband’s family. But they live in the south, so that’s a nice change of pace. I’m looking forward to it!

What do the following have in common?

What do the following have in common?

  • 16.6x Lord of the Flies
  • 12x Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl
  • 7.2x 2000 Leagues Under the Sea
  • 2.4x Gone With the Wind
  • 2.2 The Lord of the Rings
  • 1.7x War and Peace
  • 1x A Dance to the Music of Time by Anthony Powell

They all equal 1,000,000 words!

And in 2020, I am committing to write 1,000,000 words.

No, I am not writing an epic novel, though that would be cool. But I will write 1,000,000 words. My goal is to write them all fiction, but I am going to include blog posts, because maybe I’ll actually write in my blog more then (and not just TMI Tuesdays, though I love doing those). Most of my blog is fiction, anyway.

Is anyone crazy enough to join me?

A friend of mine is!

Is anyone else?

Probably not. But if you are, let me know, because we are totally down for more crazy people writing All. The. Words.

And of course, dear reader, check back here for updates!

TMI Tuesday

Woah boy, it’s been a while. Sorry about that… Anywhoooo:

1. Christmas music is everywhere. It has been on the radio in my area since mid-November! If you had to listen to Christmas music, from one artist, non-stop during December who would be crooning those holiday tunes? (must pick one). Why did you make that choice?
a. Harry Connick Jr.
b. Mariah Carey – I might actually really like her over-played songs. Go ahead. Judge me.

2. In 2019, in the bedroom, were you mostly naughty or nice?

3. In your next sexcapade, who will be joining you (must pick one)? Why is that your choice?
a. Mr and Mrs Santa Claus
b. Grinch
c. Frosty the snowman
d. 4 of Santa’s elves – a gang bang has always been on my bucket list…

4. Do you celebrate any holidays in December? If yes, what?

I do! Christmas most specifically, but also New Year’s.

5. How will you be spreading holiday cheer in 2019?

I am a pretty cheerful person all the time, so I’m not much different, but I LOVE giving gifts. Love, love, love.

Bonus: What Netflix holiday movie do you recommend we watch? I actually have never watched any. I know, that’s a surprise. But, I really like The Holiday with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet which is on Hulu.

TMI Tuesday

From http://propertyofpotter.com :
1. What strange areas of your body are ticklish?

Every part of my body is ticklish. I wish I were kidding, but I’m not. Every. Part.

From https://scarletrosevixen.wordpress.com :
2. What is something you are interested in sexually, but only on a purely fantasy level? Something that you think about but could never fully act on.

Being a 24/7 submissive. I love the idea of being a slave, I even wrote a book about it. It was my first published novel.

From http://truepleasuresreviews.com :
3. If you could have a week of the best sex ever in human history but you had to have a fish head as your head for the rest of your life, after that week, would you do it?

Uh, I don’t think so. Having a fish head sounds fun and all, but…

From http://sexualitysanctuary.blogspot.ca :
4. What do you consider taboo and have you ever ventured into this territory? Was it a great, good, bad or horrific experience?

There are a lot of taboo fetishes that I have been interested in. (In fact, some of them are featured in the book I referenced above.) I have ventured into some of them, and I have had really good experiences over all. It helps having a very non-judgy partner.

From http://www.shadowedseductress.com :
5. What part of your body do you consider the most unusual that you enjoy being stimulated?

Most unusual… Hm. The parts that I like being stimulated are having my hair played with, my feet rubbed, my back rubbed (touched, whatever)… Oh, I know! I like it when someone gently caresses the line where my bra goes under my breasts and the crease where my thighs meet my pubic area. Those areas get really sore sometimes, and it feels nice to have them stimulated.

Bonus:

From http://herprivateisland.com :
If you could make a porn film/video with any celebrity, who would it be and why?

Angelina Jolie. I have been enamored with her for as long as I can remember. She’s so beautiful.

TMI Tuesday

1. What makes you insecure?

Anything where I don’t know what to expect. If I have been somewhere before, or have someone with me who has, I am much less insecure.

2. What do you expect from a romantic love relationship?

Openness, honesty, communication.

3. What do you expect from a friendship?

Openness, honesty, communication. The only difference is that we don’t have romance/love.

4. What do you expect from a Friends-with-Benefits situation?

Openness, honesty, communication. Actually, I’m not sure I can do Friends-with-Benefits. I get too attached, fall too hard, or however you want to think of it. I much prefer a relationship.

5. What expectations do you have for yourself?

Always do better than the last time. Do my best, all the time. Sometimes, that’s a tall order.

Bonus:   Post one picture (art, photograph, drawing) that depicts how you feel today.

TMI Tuesday

1. For you happy life = ? + ? + ?

Family+Friends+Time+Love

2. How confident are you that your relationship will last?

Very. 15 years and counting, and very much in love, despite the odds.

3. Studies show exercise can improve your mood in the moment and play a preventative role for the future. How often do you exercise? What is your exercise?

I like going to the gym, but I rarely have time for it lately. It does make me feel good, though. I can’t wait to be able to go back on a more regular basis.

4. How recently has someone been hurt by your actions? Did you attempt to make things right or apologize?

Very recently. I always try to make things right and/or apologize. Immediately and always.

5. Solitude– do you welcome it or loathe it?

I am about 99% extrovert. So, I don’t care for a lot of solitude.

Bonus: Share with us something you haven’t told a partner but would like to.

I’m pretty open with my partners. Like, maybe too much sometimes. I legitimately can’t think of anything I haven’t told my partners. If I think of something to tell them, I tell them.

TMI Tuesday

1. Which of these do you do the most with your significant other? List in order of frequency from done the most to performed less frequently. If you don’t engage in any of this with your significant other write N/A (not applicable)
a. Eat meals with your significant other without smartphones, tablets, TV or any device.
c. Share a morning kiss that lasts longer than six seconds.
b. Exercise together

We are big on our smartphones, but we connect in other ways. 😉
Morning sex is the best, and usually starts with a backrub and kisses.
We need to do this more…

2. Briefly tell us about a time when things felt helpless but you knew you would pull through.

When someone in my family passed away suddenly. It was really hard on all of us. I knew we would rally, but it was tough.

3. Would you rather have sex in a posh romantic hotel suite, on a secluded tropical beach or in your own bedroom? Why?

Posh romantic hotel suite, all the way! In suite hot tub, please!

4. Have you practiced orgasm denial? Did you like it? Would you do it again?

Not enough. Please, please?

5. Finish this line: I doubt I will ever tell you _____ .

About my “real” life. Being a bisexual, poly, kinky, bdsm author would not fly in my daily life.

Bonus: Would you pay good money to have the kind of sex you want, when you want?

Yeah, if I had the disposable income, I totally would.

TMI Tuesday

1. When you’re old, would you rather die before or after your significant other?

I usually would say before, because I don’t like the thought of being without him. But given how much older he is than me, I hope I outlive him!

2. Would you rather live at the top of a tall apartment building, in your favorite city, or at the top of a mountain?

Apartment building. 100%. I love the city.

3. Would you rather have to sew all your clothes or grow your own food?

Sew my clothes. I would literally starve if I had to grow my own food.

4. Would you rather have your debt forgiven or have guaranteed good health for a decade?

Oh that is tough, but given recent health issues, as tempting as the former is, I would go with the good health!

5. Would you rather take a bubble bath with your boss or fuck your neighbor?

Um. Both would be very weird. I guess fucking my neighbor since that’s less intimate than a bubbly bath.

Bonus: Would you rather have the details of your financial life or your love life be made public?

Financial life. Revealing my love life to the public might land me in some trouble professionally. Being bisexual, poly, and into bdsm… Not everyone accepts that.

So, what’s a “little”?

After I wrote my post on August 9th, two of my friends messaged me privately to ask what a “little” is. They hadn’t heard the term before and were waiting for the sentence to end. Such as, “she started to show some signs of being a little _________, too.” Fill in the blank: person, brat, what!?

So here I am to share what (little) knowledge I have of littles. I looked at urbandictionary, (a crap shoot for sure), but I found that their definition was pretty good:

“A little is someone that likes to act younger then they really are. It’s kind of like having an alter ego that’s much younger then yourself. Most littles don’t act little 24/7, but when they do slip into their younger alter ego it’s called slipping into headspace.”

They go on to define the age range as 0-8, which made me wonder: What about people who identify older than that? It turns out there’s a term for that, too! It’s, unsurprisingly, “middle.” Some places seem to define middles as 12-15, but others go as young as 9 (which fits with the “little” definition above).

In any case, it may seem weird to think about, but the key to remember about any of this topic is that it is…

always between consenting adults. Always.

So while it may seem odd to think of adults pretending to be, or acting as, children, we all know they are still adults. They look like them and act like them when they are out of the bedroom. I mean, we don’t think that someone who likes nipple clamps wears them all the time, do we? 😉

As I stated in my previous post on the 9th, I don’t have really any experience with it. None myself, and very little in my readings, but it is something many people are into. I’m not sure if I have enough background knowledge to take a fictional character that way, but maybe someday!

And if you want more information from people better informed than I am, I would encourage you to look around. The internet is chock full of information… both reliable and not. So tread carefully!

New plan!

Yesterday, I Tweeted:

   @JRVincente
I have a new author plan: Write all the words and then when I’m rich and my kids are grown, pay someone to edit and publish them. #amediting #mostlykidding #semiserious
As indicated, I’m mostly kidding, which means I’m also partially serious. Editing is terrible. Watching for the intricate details is a pain in the ass. Worrying about grammar and punctuation is tedious. (Actually, I don’t mind the grammar. It’s the details.)
But worse than editing, is publishing. Self ebook publishing isn’t actually that difficult. Putting together the manuscript is fine. Table of contents isn’t too bad. Even cover art is manageable. (I’ve used a picture I took, one my husband took, and one that I digitally created.) Then I have to come up with a blurb for the novel, a paragraph, a one-liner. I have to do front material and back material. I have to decide when/where/how I’m going to advertise and how much I’m willing to spend. It’s all terrible, and far too much work.
Hiring an editor wouldn’t be too far out of the budget. Hiring a social media manager and someone to do all that other stuff… that might be pushing it. Plus, I’m not even sure that’s a thing. (Is it a thing? I know social media managers exist…) But then again, I couldn’t let someone else manage my blog. It’s mine! My followers! My friends!
It’s a conundrum.

TMI Tuesday

1. Any sport, any athlete, who would you want to practice with?

I’m not a big sports person, but probably someone awesome and strong, like Serena Williams.

2. List the top 3 pieces of lingerie you like to see on women?

Thong, bra (so fun to have breasts spill out of them when you take it off), and thigh highs.

3. Do you pick up on subtle hints?

Usually. At least, I think so. Are you hinting at something…?

4. Are you seriously expecting an honest reply to “does this make me look fat?”

If I ask my husband, yes! I need to know before I leave the house!

5. How offended would you be if someone called your eyebrows ugly?

Considering I do absolutely nothing to them, eh. Whatever.

Bonus: Is there ever a good time to send a dick pic?

Only when requested!

TMI Tuesday

1. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Why?
Sex is a difficult topic for partners to discuss, yet sex can draw couples closer together.

Agree – It’s funny that I’m an erotica writer, but I have a difficult time verbalizing things about sex in person with my partners, even long, long time partners. But I love sex and the connection it brings. I’m getting better.

2. Who did you first come out to and why did you chose that person?

Outside of the people who I was dating or interested in dating, I came out to my best friend since elementary school. I knew she would be supportive of me, and she always has been.

3. Has someone come out to you? What was your reaction?

Yes! I am honored when someone is comfortable enough to come out to me. I try to be open about my life and the fact that anyone can tell me things and I won’t judge them.

4. Recent studies show that smartphones are causing decreased intimacy among partners. In your relationship is the smartphone a saboteur or helping hand?

It’s a balance. We have to make time for each other, but we do it because our relationship is important. That said, bonding over memes can be lots of fun.

5. Tell us something that you do that could cause someone to say “What Will the Neighbors Think?”.

Walk someone on a leash around the yard.

6. What was your most recent motivation for masturbation?

I was so horny and I was alone.

Bonus: Do you regularly view porn? What’s regular?

Not regularly, but occasionally. I love group scenes and in particular scenes that involve public displays.

Writing Marathon

So a few weeks ago, my local writing group and I did a 24-hour writing marathon. It was epic, as it always is. We do them twice a year (July and November).

I started, as I usually do, with a seed of an idea and ran with it. It went really well until near the end when I couldn’t decide how I wanted to end the story and I really needed words. When I am in desperate need of a surge of words, a sex scene is the best way to do that. Unfortunately, my characters were in the middle of a disagreement and they weren’t ready for makeup sex. So I skipped ahead and wrote three possible endings.

But what was interesting to me was that my character revealed to me some aspects of herself that I wasn’t expecting. I knew that she was submissive, but toward the end, she started to show some signs of being a little, too.

It’s an interesting concept, but one that I haven’t explored personally. In fact, most of my exposure has been through an excellent blog I follow. She’s just a person like you or me, but she shares a lot of her life in her blog and it’s inspiring! Feel free to point me to other resources, because when your character speaks to you, you have to listen.

TMI Tuesday

1. Do you or did you have an “our song” with a current or past significant other? What is the song?

I have had many, many “our song”s. Music has impacted my life quite a bit. “Collide” is one with my current partner – most interesting because there are multiple interpretations of the song.

2. What is your most annoying habit?

Maybe you should ask my partner? Haha.

Personally, I think my ability to attach to someone emotionally too quickly is my most annoying habit. I have great intentions of casual friendships, but then I get attached. That’s not to say I’m clingy, but the thought of them leaving my life for any reason is terrifying.

3. You have been offered free plastic surgery for one part of your body, what will you fix?

Easy. Can they make my thighs not touch? That chafing sucks!

4. A meteor is headed for your house. You have saved family, pets, your computer, and smart phone. You have time to save one more item, what will you save?

A cross stitch I did. I’m not even sure which one, haha, but definitely one of them.

5. Would you reveal a deep dark, shameful or embarrassing secret about your partner for one million dollars?

About my partner? No way. Not worth it.

Bonus: Which one of these do you have the most of: a sense of humor, sense of time, sense of direction, sense of adventure?

A sense of direction. I am always on the go. I always have a direction I’m moving and I get focused on it. The problem is I’m often pulled in multiple directions at once.

I. Am. The. Worst.

Okay, I am not the worst person in the world, or even in the room. I am just the worst at keeping my blog updated (and reading other people’s blogs). I was sure that I would have time once I got through April and then May, and there would be all the time in the world… and then suddenly there wasn’t.

I can give lists of things I did and excuses for why I didn’t work on my blog, but the reality is that I just didn’t make it a priority, and for that, I am sorry. I have missed the blogs I follow and now it’s just way too much to catch up. But I am going to try (again) to start fresh at least! But if you see comments pop up on old posts, sorry, that’s just me, being terrible.

So what’s been going on with me?

I wrote 50,000 words for CampNano! And I did it in one day. 24 hours. 50,035 words, in fact. Isn’t that insane? I think so. So do my friends. It’s the third time I’ve done 50k+ in 24 hours, and that may be the last time.

My local group did the marathon together, and I felt like I was never able to chat with people or make friends because I was too focused on writing. It was a bit discouraging, actually.

What is NOT discouraging are our Cabin Stats! Check this out!

67911941_10157531349729489_6892185812901822464_o

If you can’t figure out where the 24 hour marathon happened, well, I would direct you to the giant jump at Day 14!!!

Not everyone met their goal, but look at all the progress we made as a group!

(And thanks for the picture, Jamie! She posted it in our Facebook group, but go check out her blog!)

Feel free to poke me to update more. I want to, honest! Ask me questions and I’ll be happy to answer them! And as always, thanks for following and reading.
