Jayden: Be broke but have friends and family. Not even a question.

Richard: I’ll pick millionaire. No real reason, I just feel like being contrary to Jayden.

Jayden: We don’t usually celebrate ON Christmas day anyway, so I’d rather earn the money.

Richard: I don’t think anyone would show up to my job on Christmas day, so I’ll get paid 4 times to have some reading time and Zoom with my family if they want.

2. Would you rather spend a snowy day outside playing winter games/sports or spend a snowy day inside with your most annoying relative?

Jayden: Take me outside!

Jayden: Cold! MORE SNUGGLES!

Richard: Cold. Cold all year. Always cold.

2. Would you rather help Santa deliver presents or help Santa in his workshop?

Jayden: Hmm. I’d like delivering presents, but mostly if I could see the looks on people’s faces.

Richard: Workshop. I like building stuff, and I don’t get to do it enough.

3. Would you rather wear nice clothes all Christmas day or wear pajamas?

Jayden: Another tough one. I like wearing fancy clothes sometimes, but PJs on Christmas are fun.

Richard: Christmas is a pajama day!

4. Would you rather eat fruit cake for two days straight or eat candy canes for two days straight?

Jayden: Candy canes. I don’t love them, but I really don’t like fruit cake.

Richard: Fruit cake. Candy canes aren’t even food. Your mouth would be so sticky. Ick.

1. What is something minor or seemingly insignificant in your life that actually contributes greatly to your happiness?

Jayden: Chores. When I moved in with Richard, he did evening chores, so now we have our set chores we do every night. It makes such a difference in our lives. The dishes are done every night, we keep up with the laundry, etc. etc. (And I give him so much credit for implementing it, making us do it, and probably doing more than I do.)

Jayden: We’re getting married this weekend!

Richard: I want snuggles and Panaynay

3. Have you ever been screwed over? What happened and how did you respond?

Jayden: I have. Specifically at work, someone reported that I did something I didn’t do. Nothing happened, because my boss knew better. But all I can say is: document, document, document.

Richard: I, similarly, lost a job because someone else wasn’t doing theirs. It was a crappy summer job and I got a better one like a month later, so no big deal.

4. What did you think was cool when you were young but is not cool now?

Jayden: Smoking. I never smoked, but all of my friends did. They were so cool. I’ve still never smoked, and now I’m 100% proud of it.

Richard: Yugioh.

5. Would you rather stay in or go out on a Friday night?

Jayden: Both? I don’t think I could pick, but if I had to, I’d stay in if Richard is staying in. 🙂

Richard: I like to go out on Friday, but low key (like happy hour or over a friend’s house). That way you can enjoy your Saturday. Saturday is more of a go out and party night for me, and there’s usually less going on Sundays anyway.

Bonus: Which word would you use if you could only use one for the rest of your life?

Jayden: Fuck. So versatile.

1. You unexpectedly had sex with your friend’s partner. You feel guilty. Your friend’s partner keeps texting you begging you not to say anything about the two of you having sex. Would you tell your friend or keep mum?

Jayden: Tell my friend. I’m not very good at keeping secrets like that.

Richard: How does this even happen? Either way, tell my friend. Also, stop texting me friend-partner. I only get like 5 texts a week.

2. How often would you like to spend time away from your significant other?

Jayden: c. or maybe between b and c? Nah, who am I kidding? I give Richard space when he wants/needs it, but I prefer to be together. SNUGGLES!

Richard: A. One evening a week is nice. I sit around naked playing video games/watching crappy TV without feeling guilty.

3. Do you think couples should argue regularly for a happy relationship or marriage?

Jayden: Have discussions, sure. Argue, not necessarily.

Richard: Everyone should argue all the time.

4. What causes you to feel insecure in a relationship?

Jayden: (Should we get our therapist on the line for this one?) I feel insecure when I feel like my partner doesn’t reassure me that they love me and that they want me.

Richard: I feel insecure that Jayden left her ex husband after we started having an affair.

Bonus: If you were asked, “Why do you keep meeting the wrong people on dating apps?” what would you respond?

Jayden: Richard wasn’t on a dating app when I was. 😛

Richard: I’m just imagining meeting someone with a super common name on a dating app, getting to the coffee shop (or wherever) and winding up on a date with “The Wrong Becky” or whatever. One of my best friends called Jayden “Wrong Jayden” after Wrong Hordak from the She-Ra reboot for a while, since they had the same name.

Money, Money, Money

1. True or False. You can never have enough money.

Jayden: False. There’s a maximum, for sure. I would love to try to reach it so I could use my excess money to help others.

Richard: False.

2. Will money solve all your problems? Why or why not?

Jayden: I feel very lucky I don’t have a ton of problems. More money would certainly help, but there are some pretty big ones that can’t be solved with money.

Richard: It would probably solve, or put a big dent, in most of them.

3. Agree or disagree.  I will not buy something unless it is new (e.g. furniture, car, clothes).

Jayden: Disagree. There are lots of used things I buy. In fact, this is the first time in my life I’ve owned a new couch.

Richard: Disagree. I’m trying to embraced the reuse.

4. Is it important to save for a rainy day (aka emergency fund)?

Jayden: Absolutely. It’s hard, though.

Richard: Yes.

Jayden: Pay off all our debts! There are precious few, but there are some.

1. What do you wear to sleep in?

Jayden: Nothing. I prefer to sleep naked.

Richard: Usually a pair of boxers. I like naked, but it’s better for my skin.

2. Do you ever walk around your own place naked?

Jayden: Sometimes, when my daughter isn’t around, at least. I never used to, so that’s been a new thing when I started dating Richard.

Richard: Usually. Putting on pants is the worst part of being naked.

3. Have you or would you ever answer the door naked?

Jayden: I would if Richard told me to, which would probably only be in a situation where he knew who was at the door.

Richard: I have a few times, when I knew who it was. I did it more in college.

1. Does your smartphone have a grip on you? In one hour, how often do you check your phone?
a. I am glued to my phone. I check it every 1-2 minutes; it is satisfying.
b. I check it 1-2 times per hour.
c. I check my phone only when I get notifications, and I don’t get many.
d. I check at lunch time and at the end of the day mostly, unless I get a notification.

Jayden: I’m sure someone is. I hope they like kinky memes and geeky things.

Richard: I believe being monitored is the purpose of my smartphone.

Jayden: Yeah, we’re supposed to, right?

Richard: I think I usually just turn it all the way off. It’s easier.

Jayden: My mind. I don’t like my body now, much less when I’m older… Richard likes it though.

Richard: Body. Most people I know who are attracted to people for their minds are the kind of people that will lock you in their basement.

2. What would be more embarrassing for you out in public–to be seen tripping or adjusting your “package”?

Jayden: I mean… both happen on a regular basis. I’m frequently tripping and my boobs are big, so they get adjusted. *shrug* I guess tripping is more embarrassing.

Richard: Package. Tripping is funny or something.

3. If you are going to be famous what is it for?

Jayden: I hope writing. Other than that, I don’t know what I could get famous for.

Richard: I guess writing too. I hope not.

4. Would you rather urinate in port-a-potty or nearest bush?

Jayden: Port-a-potty. Squatting sucks. It’s so hard not to just have piss running down your legs…

Jayden: I am excited to be going back to school.

Jayden: I love the Bachelor franchise even though it’s trash TV. I have a lot of kinks that are hard limits for many people.

Richard: I spend Bachelor time most weeks sharpening knives. I hate vacation.

Jayden: never being satisfied with myself.

Richard: not getting enough sleep

3. A big box is delivered to you. The address is correct but the name on the label is not you. Do you open the box?

Jayden: This happened to us! We (meaning Richard) turned it into the apartment management office. It was one of those meal delivery boxes. They refrigerated the box and contacted the person. A week later, another box showed up. Richard went to bring it down, and they ended up giving us both boxes.

Richard: So yes.

4. How long have you held a grudge?

Jayden: I try not to, but there are a few things that are hard to let go of.

Richard: Probably about a year.

5. Does anyone have a grudge against you? Why?

Jayden: Probably. I was someone’s second wife, and I’m pretty sure the first wife held a grudge against me.

Richard: Yes. I don’t actually know why, I just know he wanted to shoot me.

Bonus: There is this one thing in my life I wish I had not done. I wish I had not _____ .

Jayden: put myself last for so long.

Richard: gone to such a crappy school for undergrad. And then no one would’ve wanted to shoot me. Probably. I guess I could’ve pissed someone else off.

Richard: A PROPER cheesesteak. Which no one knows how to make around here!

Jayden: Sharks. I am very scared of things like spiders, but they aren’t animals.

Richard: Ants

3. Ever asked someone for an autograph?

Jayden: Sure, I mean, I’ve been to Disney and I had all the character autographs as a kid. Other than that, I’ve gotten some autographs at shows before.

Richard: Pretty much the shame. I have like 5 hats with Greg Lewsinski’s autograph, because they came with a barbecue sandwich.

4. Favorite action movie?

Jayden: Lethal Weapon

Richard: Die Hard

5. Fave rom-com?

Jayden: Serendipity

Richard: I don’t have one, but I will say that Serendipity is an absolute disaster.

1. Has a stranger ever done something nice for you? What?

Jayden: Yes, but I’m having trouble thinking of a specific example. Certainly many have held doors for me.

Richard: Someone let me in in traffic yesterday.

2. What was the first thing you did this morning?

Jayden: Rejoice that I wasn’t nauseated and vomiting.

Richard: Went to the diner.

3. Fill in the blank. My lover was _____ .

Jayden: not worth the trouble. Richard is SO much better.

Richard: not my wife. Now she is! 

4. Money fights. When was your last fight about money? Who was it with? Did the issue(s) get resolved or is it still lingering destined to cause another fight?

Jayden: I don’t remember the last one I had. Probably with my ex. I don’t think Richard and I have ever fought about money.

Richard: Same

5. Tell us the best advice you received.

Jayden: Don’t listen to respond. Listen to understand.

Richard:  Anything worth doing is worth screwing up.

6. Tell us the worst advice received.

Jayden: Enjoy every minute when your kids are little. It goes fast! (Yeah, of course it does, but you shouldn’t feel guilty for not enjoying every minute! There are some awful ones when kids are little.)

1. What keeps your life exciting?

Jayden: Richard. We go on adventures together!

Richard: Yelling ADVENTURE whenever I do something.

2. What is something you do to embrace your insecurities?

Jayden: I face them head on with Richard. We talk about them and helps me address them.

Richard: I look at the absolute disaster that we tolerate in other people and realize I can’t possibly do any worse.

3. Where do you find joy on the internet?

Jayden: I really like those random listicles. Richard hates them.

Richard: The multitool.org forums and wikis.

4. There is going to be an exhibition in your honor. What 5 things from your life must go on display? Why those particular pieces?

Jayden: A cross stitch I finished, a landscape picture I took, a color coded spreadsheet, a blanket I crocheted, a book I wrote

Richard: I’ll just leave out five things of sourdough starter so people can take them, I don’t really want to be exhibited anyway.

5. I do not want to do _____ . Please do not make me _____ .

Jayden: I do not want to answer a month’s worth of TMI Tuesdays. Please do not make me answer them all! (I guess no one is making me, but I blame Richard.)

Richard: I do not want to wear high heels that are four sizes too small. Please do not make me race in them. (But I won.)

Jayden: Spiders, scorpions, flying bugs, losing all my computer files, my house burning down.

Richard: Ants, dogs, my car flying off a cliff, kayaks, global fascist takeover.

2. When it comes to sex, which of the following do you and your partner disagree about more:

Where to have sex, when to have sex or how often to have sex?

Jayden: How often to have sex. Richard thinks I want it a lot more often than him. I don’t think it’s as much as he thinks.

Richard: How often. I did the math, Jayden needs at least 2.5 times a day.

3. Worse thing to do as a couple:

a. dieting
b. picking a movie
c. building something from Ikea

Jayden: Dieting. We are really good at building things! Although, picking out movies is hard, too.

Richard: I dunno, we kind of diet together since we eat most of the same meals. I think it’s picking movies.

4. What is the most organic thing in your home right now?

Jayden: Richard’s sourdough bread, probably.

Richard: IT’S ALIVE!

5. Tell us the best thing you bought to enhance your life for under 30 usd.

Jayden: Bathtub pillow. It makes taking baths a lot more comfortable. 

Richard: Probably a Swiss Army Knife. I think I got a used Executive around that price earlier this year.

1. What movie dialogue do you know by heart?

Jayden: The first one I ever learned was The Lion King. I was probably 8 when I started literally writing the dialogue down in a notebook… I probably still have it somewhere.

Richard: Star Wars (probably ANH) is the highest percentage. The Transformers (80s, not the Michael Bay disaster) is up their too though.

2. Which show do you watch the most?

Jayden: The Bachelor franchise. I know it’s trash TV, but I love the drama.

Richard: Probably King of The Hill. I’ve watched the whole thing front to back multiple times, and clips of it come up pretty often in my feeds to add on.

3. Do you get shy on camera?

Jayden: Not too shy, but I often hate the way pictures of me come out.

Richard: I’m bad at smiling, so I always try to stick something in my mouth.

4. How often do you take selfies?
a. Once a week
b. A few times a week – Jayden
c. Every day
d. Never – Richard

Jayden: I try to take selfies to share when I’m out doing fun things.

Richard: Very occasionally I’ll initiate one if Jayden and I are out somewhere, but basically never of just me. Usually she asks for one first.

5. Do you like being watched?

Jayden: Not especially. It depends on the situation…

Richard: Usually. I like attention.

Bonus: What’s the last thing you got in trouble for?

Jayden: Umm… I lost track of time when Master (Richard) told me to come upstairs in 30 minutes. I was probably on Facebook. Whoops.

1. What is the most ambitious work you’ve done in the past five years?

Jayden: Writing-wise, writing 50k in 24 hours. I did it three times. And I’ll probably never do it again.
Professionally, changing jobs during covid.
Educationally, applying for and being accepted to a doctoral program.

Richard: I got married!

2. What is the biggest risk you’ve taken in your life?

Jayden: Leaving my husband. I had been with him my entire adult life, and he made a lot more money than me. I’m doing well though, really well.

Richard: I turned in smut for homework!

3. What do you do when no one is watching?

Jayden: Cry, a lot, haha. Most TV shows make me cry. I can’t help it.

Richard: Usually play video games, just because when Jayden isn’t home is the easiest time to do it.

4. How do you get attention?

Jayden: From Richard, I playfully whine that I need kisses and snuggles. He usually acquiesces.

Richard: Just existing, I guess. I generally try to avoid it.

5. Who do you stalk on the internet?

Jayden: My daughter’s favorite YouTuber. I want her to start doing Cameos again so I can get one for my daughter, but… she just had a baby, so I understand why she’s busy right now.

Richard: Some random guy who reads the same books as me, but has the worst takes.

Bonus: What did you watch last night?

Jayden: Nothing? I think I watched part of an episode of Survivor while I did the dishes. I’m also watching The Magicians on Netflix and Richard and I are working through Futurama, but we didn’t watch either last night.

Richard: If Jayden didn’t watch anything, I didn’t either.

Did you know that the word macaroon comes from the Italian word maccarone, meaning paste?

Jayden: I…don’t remember. I feel like I did, and I didn’t like it. It might have been coconut, which I don’t like.

Richard: Once or twice, but I also don’t like coconut.

1. What made the best sex partner you’ve ever had so good?

Richard: Good communication, and compatible kinks.

Jayden: I have nothing to add to what Richard said…

2. What made the worst sex partner you’ve ever had so bad?

Richard: I wasn’t super attracted to them, and basically just had sex with them to prove a point. Neither of us really enjoyed it much. I don’t think it was their fault, so much as the situation.

Jayden: I mean, I got actually raped once. That was no picnic. Other than that, bad partners are just partners who don’t communicate well.

3. Who was the most physically attractive person you ever had sex with?

Richard: There was a redhead I dated for a year or so just after I finished undergrad. Just the right amount of curvy, and red hair was a nice change (though dark hair is still my favorite.)

Jayden: I struggled for a long time to answer this question because physical attractiveness isn’t really a thing for me. It’s mostly an emotional attraction for me. And hands down, that person is Richard.

4. How was it?

Jayden: I felt like I had to? I don’t really know. It wasn’t rape, and I don’t think anyone pressured me, I just felt like it was an expectation so I did it. If I were in a similar situation now, I’d just say no thanks and end the date, but at that point in my life (more than a decade ago), I didn’t.

7. How was it?

Richard: Kind of boring.

Jayden: Bad. Real bad.

Bonus: Describe a bad sexual experience you admit was your fault.

Richard: Funny answer- One time, I fell asleep and wound up shoving my elbow into the girl I was snuggling’s vagina. Serious answer- I was doing some face slapping with a partner, and accidentally hit them in the ear. That ended the scene pretty quickly. I aim much more carefully now.

Jayden: I have always been bad at telling partners what I want. I don’t know why. I write dirty fucking sex scenes, but I have trouble verbalizing it. Always have. So there have definitely been some times where something wasn’t what I wanted, but I didn’t say anything because…I don’t know why. I got shy, I guess.

Once upon a time, there was a kinky love triangle. And this was actually a triangle. Usually, when we hear about “love triangles,” we’re actually talking about Vs. Love and Money

1. Could you fall in love with and set up home with someone who has $100,000 (usd) in debt?

Jayden: Yeah. I essentially did in a previous relationship. But it’s okay. Richard is super debt-averse, which is fine by me!

Richard: Depends on their income, the type of debt, etc. 100K in student loans for someone pulling down six figures isn’t horrific. 100K in payday loans someone making 50K is a problem.

2. Is it important for you to be the breadwinner or make more money than your significant other?

Jayden: No. I don’t care. It all goes into one bucket.

Richard: I want to be a house husband/kept man and throw lavish parties.

3. Are you happy with your chosen career path? What could be better?

Jayden: Some days I love it. Other days, I lose 3 hours of sleep agonizing about it (and I’m on vacation this week!!!)

Richard: Not particularly. I don’t love my job, and I’m pretty sure it’ll be gone before I’m 50.

4. Would you start a business with your significant other? Why or why not?

Jayden: Sure. I’ve done it. I started one with my ex-husband. We still own it together. And…it’s fine. Sometimes he frustrates me, and I’m sure sometimes I frustrate him. But in the end, we’re both supportive of the business.

Richard: We’re totally going to get a movie deal, so I guess we’ll have to figure something out.

Bonus: Can money buy you love?

Jayden: I’m sure a sub could woo me by spoiling me financially, but I don’t think it’d ever be actual love. Money is great and all, but there are more important things. And boy did I prove that in the last ~2 years.

Richard: No. I’ve dated some girls who came from money, it doesn’t really help that much.
